Welcome to Computer Science at Lakehead
There are three options in computer science:
- Business,
- Science, and
- Hardware.
All options have approximately the same core computer science courses, with additional courses allowing the student to gain more detailed understanding in an area closely related to computer science.
A co-op program is available for each of the options. Ours was one of the first co-op programs at Lakehead University and has worked very well for our students. Over the last decade we have repeatedly placed students with some of the largest employers in Canada and many of our co-op students after graduation have found permanent work with one of their co-op employers. Our graduates continue to be in high demand.
Computer Science at Lakehead provides career oriented training combined with a spectrum of material that builds the foundation necessary to continue the study of computer science at the graduate level. Our classes are of an ideal size for students to interact with one another and with faculty.
